📖 About This Campground
Crane Flat Campground in Yosemite National Park California provides primitive tent and RV camping near the junction of Big Oak Flat and Tioga Road. Reservations required at this campground due to its close proximity to Yosemite Valley Floor. 5 single direction paved loop roads provide access to the campsites. Better suited to tent and small RVs the official line is that some sites can accommodate RVs up to 35 feet and trailers up to 27 feet.
Sites are located in a forested setting far enough off the main road to be quiet. Sites have picnic tables, fire rings and bear boxes. The first 3 loops have sites that are relatively open to one another and not very private. The last 2 loops are a it more private. Restrooms with running water are available.
Used more as a base camp for exploring greater Yosemite the campground requires guests to drive into Yosemite Valley or other points of interest. A small hiking trail does depart the campground for a viewpoint.
The campground is open seasonally.
