📖 About This Campground

Tiki Travel RV Park & Campground in St Ignace Michigan offers full, partial, and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping 1 block from the lake shore. The nice park is located up a dead-end paved street just north of the main drag of downtown St Ignace. The closest full hookup RV park to town you would not know it when inside the park. The sites are set among towering pine and hardwood trees with gravel/ dirt roads and parking pads creating a state park feel versus a standard RV park. Sites have picnic tables and fire rings. RV sites are capable of handling big rigs and can be reasonably level. Pull thru and backin options are available and all use the available space wisely for navigation in and out. Upon arrival at Tiki Travel RV Park & Campground our tip is to park in front of the row of pull thrus on the right versus pulling around in front of the office; this will avoid you having to make a U-turn to go to your site. The park generously accepts most discount club cards including Passport America. A free shuttle, handled by the boat ferry company, can get you from the park to the docks for the ferry trip to Mackinac Island. One of the primary draws to the area Mackinac Island is the 2nd established US National Park behind Yellowstone but has since been handed back over to the state for operation. Guests coming from the south will cross the Mackinac bridge which does require a toll. For drivers in RVs the toll is higher than pickups with trailers but is not overly burdensome (as of 2017). Tiki Travel RV Park & Campground maintain a small coin op laundry, restrooms with showers and a store for last minute items and wood. The prime spot for the park is one pull in right out in front. Usually claimed by a seasonal guest this site can look out down the road and over the water. See another video: [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbsCuyGu_3E[/embed]

On a busy summer weekend with no advanced reservations this park took Passport America for our 3 night stay! Only issue was the amount was due in cash only which meant I had to scrounge together enough money! The park is very pretty with lovely trees and a quiet atmosphere. We had a full hookup pull thru site and have zero complaints. The pretty setting is close enough to town to allow you to ride bikes out to the ferry and over to Mackinac Island or down to the water front for the Saturday Summer Fireworks show. They manage the park via paper and pencil so call again if they say they are full... they probably are not. For example when we originally called they said they only had a partial hookup site; when we got there they had a full hookup site. Verizon 4G was solid. if you are coming to the area to visit Mackinac this is the RV park to stay at.

This is a nice, family-run campground, in a great location in St. Ignace. There is a mixture of partial and full hook-up sites, we were in FHU. The sites are shaded, and they each have a picnic bench and fire pit, with a decent amount of outside space. It's a very quiet campground, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. There is laundry room and clean showers and restrooms. There is a dump station on site. They do have wifi but it is not brilliant so don't rely on it. It's a short drive or nice walk down to the lake and then into St. Ignace, where there are a variety of shops, restaurants, coffee shops etc, as well as a nice boardwalk along the lake. There is a ferry service to Mackinac Island and the office will tell you which service to use. The one we used (which they recommended) ran a shuttle bus to the park, so you don't even have to take your car to the ferry terminal - though there is free parking there anyway. We got Passport America discount for our three night stay, which made the rate $19 a night (FHU) and for this we think it is excellent value.
