📖 About This Campground

Lakeshore Park Campground in St Ignace Michigan offers full hookup RV and primitive/ partial hookup tent sites overlooking Lake Michigan and the Straits of Mackinac. Located off a quiet side road from US 2 the park is bordered by forest and the occasional vacation home. Guests enter and exit the park via the same access road which is a dirt/ gravel drive with a noticeable but not overly significant grade. Interior park roads are all dirt and gravel while the sites are either on mowed grass or gravel pads covered with grass. The premier sites provide RV owners the opportunity to pull in and face out with a view across the rural road towards the water. The interior sites are all pull thrus with options between extra long sites in the open and shorter options in the trees. Tent campers have some sites backed up against the forest with a bit of privacy. A covered pavilion is available for gatherings and restrooms with showers are also available. A small laundry is located behind the office. Finally the park has a private beach area allowing guests to wade, swim or simply enjoying the waters of the lake. It must be noted that this area is not handicap accessible as it is located down a steep grade on a somewhat loose surface. The waters of the Straits are famous for the un-predictable currents and rough weather so caution is advised with children.

Another great Michigan RV Park. We had one of their water facing pull ins but with our fifth wheel it was a backin requiring us to run the hookups under the rig. No big deal. the park is mostly filled with an older audience so it is quiet and peaceful. The view out on the Straits is very pretty and a short walk down to their beach is a real treat. The road out front is deserted so overall a quiet place to stay. Due to location and the amount of grass on site mosquitoes are pretty bad here. We paid about $40 per night and would gladly stay again.
