Thornhill Broome Beach Campground

Thornhill Broome Beach Campground is part of Point Mugu State Park located north of Malibu California along the Pacific Coast. This campground is located adjacent to the sand. Primitive tent and RV camping. are set on a single paved roadway sandwiched between the Pacific Coast Highway and crashing waves. This is one of the lesser known campgrounds along the California Coast and affords guests with an amazing camping spot within steps of the pounding surf. The beach here is sandy with large stones and the waves tend to be close shore crashers = not good for swimming or surfing but if you want to sleep to the sound of pounding waves and enjoy magnificent sunsets this is a great place to camp. Not far from Sycamore Canyon the destination is also good for mountain bikers who want to ride the amazing trails in that area. Managed by camphost the campground has no utilizes or water available. Restrooms are porta-potties. A self pay kiosk is located on site. The campground rarely if ever is full. It is best to access this park from the North coming down CA 1 from Port Hueneme. Guests can also come in from Santa Monica on the south via CA 1. RVs should not drive over any of the canyon roads including Mulholland, Kanaan, Westlake Boulevard, Deer Creek or Yerba Beuna. All of these roads are a blast on a road bike, motorcycle or in a sports car but are flat out dangerous in a large vehicle. A dump station and water is available at the Sycamore Canyon Campground.
