About Potwisha Campground
Potwisha Campground in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park located 4 miles (6.5 km) from the Sequoia National Park entrance. Situated along the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River under an open stand of oaks, the campground is hot in the summer and usually snow-free in the winter. Primitive tent and RV sites this campground is popular with its paved roads and sites for tent or RV camping. A dump station (located across the highway) is available along with potable water. Some sites allow generator use while others do not, check before reserving.
The low elevation campground has pull thrus and backins; easily accessed by most sized RVs reservations are recommended due to its popularity. Each site has a picnic table, fire rings and bear boxes. Restrooms with running water are within walking distance of each site.
For guests visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park to see the giant trees this is NOT the best campground to stay in BUT it is the only one larger RVs can stay in at this side of the park. The drive from here up to the large trees is steep, winding and limited to shorter RVs and trailers.
Fishing and hiking are available near the campground. The Marble Falls trailhead is situated adjacent to the campground and several other trails are a short drive away. Access to the Kaweah River is just a short walk across the street from the campground.
