About Hickory Creek Campground
Hickory Creek Campground, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is located on the shores of Lewisville Lake near Dallas, Texas. This popular destination offers a variety of recreational activities and amenities for campers and day visitors alike.
Amenities:
- Campsites: 121 sites equipped with water and electric hookups, picnic tables, grills, and fire rings.
- Restrooms: Facilities with showers are available for campers.
- Boat Ramp: A boat ramp is accessible exclusively for campers, providing easy entry to Lewisville Lake.
- Dump Station: Available for proper disposal of waste.
- Recreation: Shoreline access for fishing and a walking/biking trail for outdoor enthusiasts.
- Gate Hours: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Gates are locked at 10:00 PM; vehicle admittance is not permitted after this time.
- Camping Units: A maximum of two camping units per site is allowed, with only one being a wheeled unit.
- Occupancy: Up to 10 people are permitted per site overnight.
- Vehicle Restrictions: Vehicles must remain on paved surfaces at all times.
- Waste Disposal: Dumping of gray and black water is permitted only at the designated dump station.
- Booking: Campsites can be reserved through Recreation.gov.
- Advance Planning: It's advisable to reserve well in advance for peak times such as Spring Break, Easter, Mother's and Father's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day.
