Hillcrest Event Center Campground

Hillcrest Event Center Campground in Orion Illinois offers full and partial hookup RV camping in a rural setting. As of 2017 the golf course and pool are closed for remodel. This park was possibly at one time a nice location with event hall and on-site golf course, clubhouse, and pool area welcoming guests to a rural setting unfortunately the location is now severely run down. The main road is paved and the golf course looks mowed but there's no actual golfers on the course and the location has an overall deserted feeling. The camping area is best compared to a forest service style location instead of a campground one would typically expect next to a golf course. The loop road is a paved road with one way in and one way out  (too narrow to pass if you come to opposing traffic) . All back in sites can fit larger rigs but large rigs would probably want to avoid the location due to the weight limit on the road out front of 20,000 lb (signed 10 tons) and the winding, narrow and overgrown access road on the property. Hillcrest Event Center Campground has a lot of potential but this is not a destination unless the facilities are brought up to par.
