The 5 stars is not for the campground... it is for the location. I uploaded 3 pictures I took the day of our stay here... amazing! That is our rig in the shot; you can see my wife standing there. We will always remember this park and this day. Can't recommend the place for the price > expensive, amenities > there are not any, campsite > yeah right... but the location oh my. Verizon 4G works great. We found this park on CampgroundViews and tried Faria and Hobson but could not get in. This was our fallback and very nice was the view.

📖 About This Campground
Emma Wood State Beach Campground in Ventura California offers primitive camping for fully self-contained vehicles ONLY. Tents are not permitted. No water, restrooms, electricity, fire rings, phones or dump station are available. There are 90 campsites, which are not level and may contain a mixture of asphalt, dirt, cobble and ocean debris. Maximum vehicle length is 40 feet, due to small turnaround areas.
The campground is built on the remnants of the old road and is primarily a location driven park; put this campground anywhere else and no one would go!
There are better choices in the area but if they are all full then this can be a fall-back.
Note there are two Emma Wood camping areas. This one along the old road and beach. A second one next to Ventura RV Resort that is closed as of this report but may become available again for group usage.
The popular coastal bike trail to Ventura passes right by the entrance. In addition the rail line passes through the park.

Emma Wood Campground for Ventura Raceway accommodations. We always stay at Emma Wood State Beach Campground during our Senior Sprints, Dwarf Cars, Hobby Stocks, Focus Midgets, Sport Compacts, and Mod Lites fall racing excursion to Ventura Raceway, over at Ventura County Fairgrounds, California. So peaceful and quiet at Emma Wood Campground, after a long day at our VRA races. Always good folks there too. See the Pacific Ocean's old WWII artillery ruins (bath), and relax at The Denkes Fire Pit at night. Come have a cold one with the boys! Garry Denke
