📖 About This Campground

Dorst Creek Campground in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park overlooks the namesake creek and at 6700 feet can have snow well in to Spring. Located 8 miles from Lodgepole Visitor Center the campground is surrounded by meadows and multiple trails including the popular trail to the Lost Grove stand of Sequoias. Primitive tent and RV sites this campground is popular with its paved roads and sites for tent or RV camping. There is no size limit for RVs and the campground is mostly wide open for navigating with a very large main paved road and smaller yet maneuverable camp loops. A dump station is available along with potable water. Some sites allow generator use while others do not, check before reserving. Reservations are recommended at this nice campground. On site hosts are helpful; campsites 29-61 are best suited to larger RVs with pull thrus and backins available. Some of the other loops are better suited to tent and small RV camping. Dorst Creek Campground is the most "central" point for visiting all of the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park major attractions. This still means it is a long drive to the various points of interest but of all the various campgrounds this is the bets home base for a longer stay. Multiple trails depart this area.
