📖 About This Campground
Dockweiler Beach RV Park in Playa del Rey California is Los Angeles County's only recreational vehicle campground on the beach. Full and partial hookup RV camping with sunshine, ocean breezes, and a scenic panorama from Malibu to Catalina Island. The 22-mile Marvin Braude Bicycle Trail runs adjacent to the park, connecting with nearby attractions such as Redondo Beach Pier, Venice, Santa Monica beaches and Marina del Rey.
Limited to RVs 40' of length or less the RV park is literally steps from the beach in one of the prime locations of the Los Angeles basin. Paved roads and parking pads the sites are set in what can be considered a "parking-lot" style arrangement. Real estate is at a premium so when crowded don't plan on hanging out next to your rig (you are there for the beach!). Pull in and backin options are available the facilities are well kept.
Due to the public park nature of this location and its placement on a public bike path it is advised that campers take care to secure and lock your belongings... out of sight is always best.
There are restrooms with showers and a laundry available. Nightly rates are in the $50-$60 range making it a relatively affordable location to stay in the area. By far the nicest RV park close to Los Angeles reservations are strongly encouraged (we recommend them).
Bring the bikes, surf boards, beach chairs and sunscreen. There are a few downsides to Dockweiler Beach RV Park: 1. it is located on the immediate landing or takeoff flight path from LAX... there is significant plane noise. 2. Immediately across the street is the water treatment plant. 3. just south of the treatment plant is a power plant too.
