📖 About This Campground

Cold Springs Campground in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park is a primitive tent camping only campground with 31 drive up sites and 9 hike in sites located above 7,500 feet off Mineral King Road. The drive up Mineral King Road from Three Rivers is a long haul up a winding and narrow road. The distant campground provides campers with cool evenings in a unique environment. Located across the river the small campsites are located along 3 short dirt spur roads. The site parking pads are not well defined and depending upon site can be small. Van campers and small truck campers may be able to fit in a few of the sites but not all of them. The hike in tent camping sites are a reasonable distance from the parking areas. All sites are located in a heavily shaded setting on the northern flank of a large mountain. The location means early sunsets and late sunrises; during shoulder seasons campers will find that it cools off quick and warms up late as a result. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and bear box. Water (during warmer months) is available as are pit toilets. No reservations at this campground all sites are on a first come first served basis. Excellent hiking and Sequoia groves in this area make the campground one the best kept secrets in the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. The beautiful location and walking access to hiking trails and a small ranger station add to the allure of this remote campground.
