Bay Furnace Campground

Bay Furnace Campground near Munising Michigan is a US Forest Service Campground (Hiawatha National Forest) offering 50 campsites, each with a fire ring and table. Toilets and drinking water are conveniently located throughout the campground. A sanitary dumping station and pressurized drinking water are available for self-contained vehicles. Suitable for RV and tent camping. Enjoy the scenic view of Lake Superior with its spectacular sunrises, sunsets, and occasional northern light displays. This convenient location makes it a perfect site for the traveler who would like to camp overnight. It is also a perfect place to stay while enjoying the recreational opportunities available in the Munising area. Among many others are the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Alger Underwater Preserve, the boat cruises, Miner`s Castle, and many delightful waterfalls. Bay Furnace Day Use Site offers spectacular views Grand Island National Recreation Area. The very large day use area has several picnic sites and access to a rocky beach along the lake. The campground is close to restaurants and lodging and not far from downtown Munising.
