Review of Bay Center / Willapa Bay KOA Holiday in Bay Center, WA for 1 night, June 30, 2025, in Site 3 (pull-thru). We stayed in our 31-ft Forest River FR3 “Class A” Motorhome towing a Jeep Wrangler (2-door). The cost was $112 a night. Overall, we give it a “4.5” out of a 5 rating. Pros • Big rig friendly, FHU (5 FHU 50 Amp Pull-thru sites with Deluxe Patios, 6 FHU regular 50 amp pull thru sites, 5 FHU regular back-in sites, 8- 50-amp water & electric back-in only sites, 8 FHU 30-amp sites) – picnic table and fire pits at sites • There is a small beach area via a cute path as they are located on the shoreline of Willapa Bay • Owners/staff are super friendly and very responsive • Lots of good social activities--ice cream socials mid-afternoon, tasting sessions on Saturday evenings--clamming on the bayfront • Campground includes camp store (groceries/gifts/beer/wine/ice/firewood, etc.), clean showers, laundry, dump station, propane, hiking trail, dog wash, sink for community use, playground with bouncing pad, basketball hoop, latter ball, gaga ball, gemstone mining for kids, Kamp K9, pet walk, covered event shelter with picnic tables, and daily activities • Goose Point oysters are right around the corner Cons • Although they have beach access, the beach is rough and is covered in thick seaweed • Cellular connection is spotty – at least for Verizon I had only 1 bar of 4G – however Starlink was FLYING! • No swimming pool or hot tub – but not everyone wants those Local Restaurant Recommendations • Skylar’s in South Bend (.5 mile) • The Oystery near Palix River crossing sells the best fresh oysters in the world--Goose Point oysters (1 mile) • Skylar’s is the only restaurant within 2 miles • Winery: WooHoo Winery in Raymond (13 miles) Attractions: • Willapa Bay Beach via the path in the Park • World’s Largest Oyster in South Bend (7 miles) • Willapa Seaport Museum in Raymond (11 miles) • Northwest Carriage Museum in Raymond (11 miles) • Flea/Farmers Markets: None in the nearby area • Hiking: In the park there are several path/trails • Movie Theater: Nearest is Raymond Theater (11 miles) • Golf: Surfside Golf Course – Ocean Park (8 miles) Local Shopping • Groceries: The Camp Store in the park, Pioneer Grocery in South Bend (7 miles), Willapa Thriftway in Raymond (11 miles) • Mall: None in the nearby area • Propane: Available in the park for purchase • Auto Parts: Carquest and Napa in Raymond (11 miles) • Amazon Locker: None in the nearby area • US Post Office: 3 Main St, Bay Center WA 98527 (.7 mile) Club’s Nearby • Elks: 326 3rd St in Raymond (11 miles) • Eagles: 1409 Bay Ave in Ocean Park (10 miles) or 215 3rd St in Raymond (11 miles) • Moose: None in the nearby area Other: • Air Channels: None available • Cellphone Service: Verizon 4G with 1 Bars (without WeBoost) • Campground Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi available in the park – password provided when you check in • Local Radio Station: KOSW 88.9 out of Ocean Shores (26 miles) • Hospital: Willapa Harbor Hospital – South Bend (7 miles) • Pharmacy: Raymond Drug (11 miles) • Check in time: 1:00pm • Checkout time: 11:00am ($25 for late 3pm checkout if the site is available)
