📖 About This Campground

Allegany State Park, located in western New York, is the state's largest park, encompassing over 65,000 acres of diverse landscapes. The Cain Hollow Campground, situated within the Quaker Area of the park, offers visitors a serene camping experience amidst lush forests and rolling hills.   Campground Features:
  • Campsites: Cain Hollow Campground comprises 158 campsites, accommodating both tents and RVs. Of these, 96 sites can accommodate RVs ranging from 20 to 63 feet in length. Many sites are equipped with electrical hookups, and all are reservable.
  • Facilities: Amenities include modern restrooms with showers, a trailer dumping station, and water spigots located throughout the camping loops. The campground also features a playground and picnic areas for family-friendly activities.
  • Loops: The campground is divided into four loops: A, B, C, and D. Loop A is an open field with no shade, primarily catering to trailers, while Loops B, C, and D are more wooded, offering a traditional camping atmosphere.
Recreational Activities:
  • Hiking: The park boasts an extensive network of trails suitable for all skill levels, including the North Country National Scenic Trail, which traverses the park.
  • Fishing and Boating: Quaker Lake, located nearby, provides opportunities for fishing and non-motorized boating. Anglers can expect to catch species such as bass, trout, and panfish.
  • Wildlife Viewing: The park's diverse habitats support a wide range of wildlife, including deer, black bears, and numerous bird species, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts.
