Eldon Hazlet State Recreation Area, located on the western shore of Carlyle Lake in Clinton County, Illinois, spans 3,000 acres and offers a diverse range of outdoor activities. Camping Facilities:

• Illini Campground: This campground features 328 Class A campsites equipped with 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups, 36 Class C campsites for walk-in tent camping, and two rustic rent-a-cabins. Seven Class A sites are accessible for individuals with disabilities. The campground stretches along approximately 1.5 miles of Carlyle Lake's shoreline, providing many sites with easy water access.
• Amenities: Campers can enjoy a campground store offering groceries, camping and fishing supplies, clothing, live bait, ice, and firewood. A public swimming pool, open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, is located behind the store.
