📖 About This Campground

Wood River Campground near Ketchum Idaho offers 30 tent and RV camping sites. Fishing on Big Wood River. Adjacent to highway the campground is located at 6400-foot elevation. 30 campsites and a group picnic area on the river. Site can accomodate up to 150 people/25 veicles for day use picnicking, or 40 people tent camping overnight. Fishing and float tubing in the Big Wood River. Self-guided nature trail leads to a small cave and a beaver pond. Trails in Northfork Canyon lead to the Amber Lakes and over the Boulder Mountains. Ampitheater is available for group events or for ranger programs. Campground setting is heavily forested and divided by the Big Wood River. Hiking and mountain biking on the nearby Harriman Trail. Notes: Visitor center and dump station located 2 miles west on ID 75 at the recreation area headquarters. Composed of 30 campsites including 1 double-site and a picnic area which are all first-come, first-serve. Wood River Group Overnight Area is located inside the Wood River Campground, can accommodate up to 150 people, and may be reserved by visiting www.recreation.gov or by calling (877)444-6777. The campground setting is heavily forested and divided by the Big Wood River. Trails in Northfork Canyon lead to the Amber Lakes, Window Lake, and into the Hemingway-Boulder Wilderness Area. This campground is located on the banks of the beautiful Big Wood River at an elevation of 6,400 feet. Ketchum, Idaho is conveniently close, only 10 miles south. Visitors enjoy fishing and tubing in the Big Wood river and exploring local trails. There is an ampitheater which is available for group events and for Ranger programs.
