📖 About This Campground

The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort in Lake Buena Vista Florida provide luxury full hookup RV and tent camping as part of the Disney World Resort. Full and partial hookup RV and tent sites in a wooded setting. Sites are situated in loops set across a large expanse of space. Free shuttles allow access throughout the facility and to the various restaurants and amusement parks. One of the best places to camp in the country this camping facility is well run and popular year round. Sites can not be selected too far in advance with quite a bit of work required to actually reserve a site. But based upon based on availability, cheaper when less crowded, doing your homework and planning around busy times can result in a more affordable stay at the park. Once inside the resort guests can get around via foot, bike or golf carts. Multiple pools, playgrounds and restroom/ shower facilities are all available; all facilities stick to Disney's strict standards of quality. In the evenings scheduled entertainment and campfire programs are available. Campers have access to restaurants on site and water taxis to the other resort areas. An insider tip is to attend and stay during the Christmas holiday season. Many long time visitors book this period well in advance bringing Christmas lights and decorations for their sites. Only a few loops can handle larger RVs while medium and small RVs along with tent and cabin can be found on multiple loops. The entire facility is set in a heavily wooded area with excellent privacy and space between sites. Interior roads are paved with concrete pads and sidewalks. A few tent areas are set on packed gravel for more of a rural feel. For large RVs some caution is required when navigating the roads and loops; while you will fit you do need to be cautious. Campers enter via a guard gate where check in takes place. The facility has every amenity one would expect for a fun camping experience. If you are planning to stay here book at least 3 nights to better enjoy your experience.

Like all things Disney this park is perfect. For what you get and the access to the grounds it is worth the price. The only complaint I could really provide is that it is tight for big rigs. They have so many trees and some folks tend to park on the roads a bit so maneuvering takes patience. Once in site everything is easy to access and during the holidays people decorate their sites with Christmas lights. All very pretty, festive, and family friendly. The pools are not warm but still nice for a quick dip. Taking the boat over to Disney World is a fun way to enter the park. Expensive but worth it.

One of the very few campgrounds we can give a 5 star rating. Clean level lots, paved and private. Wonderful check in process. Facilities are maintained as you would expect a Disney property to be maintained, excellent pool and sports equipment, the best recreational activities team we have encountered on the road and plenty of transportation to get where you want to go. The 10pm Disney music they play throughout the forest at quiet hours is pretty cool too. 5 stars all the way, worth the premium price if you can afford it. Even if you only go for 2 nights, it will spoil you.
