This campground is quiet and has long, grassy pull-through sites. The adjacent water park is closed. There are rental cabins, some shaded sites and a laundry. No pool probably because it is next to the water park. We had called for reservations and were given a site number. When we arrived there was a sign on the door stating that the office was closed because of a death in the family. They had not left a packet of info for us and the site they allocated to us was filled. We called the emergency number, they had no record of us calling but they came right out to straighten it out. We told them it wasn't necessary, just assign us another site but they insisted on coming there. While there, the electricity at our site went out, they tried to fix it, couldn't, and plugged us into another site. During the night the electric went out again and we had to plug into yet another site. Given the circumstances the owners were more than helpful. We didn't think this campground was up to KOA standards, however, and not worth the extra money we expect to pay at a KOA.

The park is popular during warmer months thanks to the onsite water park and beach access to a lake (note as of 2017 the lake is dry due to levee repairs being performed). Set in a rural setting northeast of Starkville and US 82 the park also provides rental cabins and family friendly amenities guests expect from KOA brand campgrounds.
