This campground has beautiful views in the Black Canyon National Park. We saw quite a few deer that are so used to people that they walked up to us. There were some sites with water and electric and there is a dump station. Some pull throughs but most of the sites were short, not for big rigs, and the tent sites were very nice. Water stations throughout, ampitheater, fire rings and tables at the site.

South Rim Campground in Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park Colorado offers 88 tent and RV camping sites including primitive and partial hookup sites. Reservations available.
A camping trip to the Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park makes for a beautiful getaway for sightseeing, stargazing, and hiking. The park protects the most dramatic section of the Gunnison River Canyon; no other canyon in North America combines the narrow opening, sheer walls, and startling depths of Black Canyon.
The South Rim Campground is located one mile from the South Rim Visitor Center. Reservations may be made on recreation.gov for mid May to mid September, and it is first-come, first served after that. Sites are fairly close together, and are partially shaded by Gambel Oak and Serviceberry bushes. Only Loop B offers 20, 30, and 50 amp electric hookups. Water is shut off during the cold months.

We spent 2 nights here in Oct 2016 for $22 per night with electric service. Smaller campground with a variety sizes of campsites. Not too many for larger rigs. Convenient campground as it is within the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park and only a few minutes from the visitor center. Very quiet. No cell service with Verizon.
