📖 About This Campground
Saint Joe State Park, located in Park Hills, Missouri, is renowned for its extensive off-road vehicle (ORV) facilities and diverse recreational opportunities. Campground 1, situated near the ORV riding area, offers convenient access for enthusiasts and a range of amenities for all visitors.
Campground 1 Features:
- Campsites: The campground comprises 40 electric sites and 35 basic sites, accommodating both tents and RVs. Some sites are equipped with 50-amp electrical service.
- Facilities: Amenities include modern restrooms, showers, a dump station, laundry facilities, and a playground. Frost-free hydrants are available near campsites 42 and 118, as well as at the dump station.
- Access to ORV Area: Trails lead directly from the campground to the ORV riding area, allowing unlicensed ORVs to access the trails without using public roads.
- Reservations: Campground 1 is open year-round and sites can be reserved up to 12 months in advance through the Missouri State Parks reservation system.
- After-Hours Access: Registered campers will receive a gate code for after-hours access on their reservation confirmation and in the self-check-in email received on the day of arrival. The code can also be obtained by contacting the park office.
- Recreation: Beyond ORV activities, the park offers hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, swimming, and fishing. Four lakes within the park provide opportunities for boating and fishing.
- Missouri Mines State Historic Site: Located within the park, this site features a museum showcasing the area's mining history and geology.
