📖 About This Campground
Queets Campground in Olympic National Park offers 20 campsites in a remote and scenic area on the western, temperate rainforest side, of the park. Adjacent to Queets River this location becomes very remote with access via forest service roads due to washouts along the main route Queets River Road. Forest Service Road 21 is a paved road that leads to the turnoff down to Queets Campground. This turnoff takes campers down a very dusty, very bumpy (pot holes) and at points very steep road. The campground as a result is remote and never over-crowded.
Sites are situated in a heavily forested setting with your choice of more private sites tucked in to heavy brush or sites sans heavy brush out in the open. The adjacent river presents guests with the relaxing chorus of moving water. Multiple trails depart the area.
No water or services of any kind in this area; come prepared. Pit toilets, picnic tales and fire rings round out the amenities.
Use caution when routing to this location. Do not randomly follow your GPS device. There are hundreds of miles of forest service roads that meander, climb and descend through the Olympic National Forest leading up to this area. Navigation devices easily confuse routes and can take you on a long circuitous adventure to the campground. These same routes do provide campers with excellent opportunities to explore via 4 wheel drive street legal vehicles in the forest service lands.
