I love this park. Very clean, quiet and employees are smiling and very friendly. Bathrooms and showers are modern and well maintained. Laundry room is also very modern. Washers work well and dryers work nice. We have a lot of wind here. Dog park, miniature golf, mineral hot springs, pool, library, rock climbing for kids, bike rental, ice cream social, dining room where you can get breakfast and dinner, painting class, bingo, poker. A must come here. Activities for kids. They have employees on golf carts checking the park all the time. We are here for 2 months and when the weather clears up we head east. We will be back next year. A very pleasant stay. Thank you KOA staff for a nice stay.

The park is now a KOA. There have been some serious upgrades and sprucing up of the many sites in the park. The office staff does a good job spacing out RVs to use up the 200 plus site park smartly; giving guests good room between sites. The pool and spa area is still the highlight of the facility and very nice. We fit our huge RV in to a 30 amp backin with room to stay hooked up. New picnic tables have been placed at every site and each site is raked to smooth the rocks between guests (a nice touch). They have added comfort cleaning sinks to the grounds, improved the office into a store, painted signs, poles and buildings, re-surfaced the black-top, cleaned up the mini-golf, added a k-9 area and over-all improved the facility. Now that the park is a KOA it is drawing in a more diverse range of campers including tourists, families and seniors. The park has a pickle-ball court and playground area. For off-roaders hundreds of miles of roads can be found in the area including some popular back-country routes into Joshua Tree National Park. Located on Dillon Rd, the scenic route on the north side of the Coachella Valley, guests can also ride bikes or hike in to the desert (note this is the real desert and you need to be prepared with maps and navigational aids). Verizon coverage is solid. The nightly rate is $45 per night for the 30 amp backin with 50 amp sites in the $55 per night range. This pricing fits in with the standard KOA pricing structure and judging by the larger volume of guests is working to the parks advantage. (clearly the price is not scaring people away and they are providing improved facilities). We visited Joshua Tree National Park while staying here and it was only a 45 minute drive into the main entrance. We found it was a lot more fun exploring the mountains above this park instead of the National Park. Look up Long Canyon for a nearby dirt road adventure that is easy and short. Search out Berdoo Canyon if you want a real adventure via high clearance 4 wheel drive, dirt bike, mountain bike or hiking. Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA fits a needed category of RV park in this region providing family friendly amenities in an area over-run with retirement/ senior style parks. I am sure it will be a popular choice in the area.

We are not KOA campers so our review is clouded by that. We have stayed here in the past before it was a KOA using the Passport America discounted rate. It was reasonably priced back then. This time we paid $45 per night for a 30 amp backin site... that is too expensive. The park is nice and they have done a lot of improvements. The parking pads are very large and easily fit our RV and two vehicles. The dog run was nice as was the free mini-golf. The pools were crowded with lots of kids messing around with little to no supervision. We like staying in this area because of its proximity to everything including Palm Springs, Joshua Tree National Park and the Interstate. Very pretty views and desert all around. We 4x4 into Joshua Tree National Park via the technically challenging Berdoo Canyon Road which in my opinion is the only way to enter the park... stunning. There are free shooting ranges as you drive up the road so bring the guns along for some target practice. Verizon 4G was solid. They do have long term guests here so that must be a more affordable option. The nightly rate is too high to recommend the location unless you really like KOA parks or stay for a longer term discounted rate. The above being noted based upon the improvements being made I imagine this park will end up being a very nice KOA park in a year or two.

Great find thank you. This park took Passport America and was very nice. Neighbors were polite and friendly. Large site was easy to back in too and we really enjoyed the spas and pool. Pretty sunsets and views of the surrounding mountains. We took the 17 miles drive and then up Berdoo Canyon for the back way in to Joshua Tree National Park. Laundry was under $4 for a load to wash and dry. We paid $23 per night and will absolutely be back.

Wow this place has come a long ways over the last few years. We stayed here on a Passport America rate for a very reasonable rate. The season, snowbirds, was over so the park was very quiet and peaceful (although I imagine it is when they are here too). The pool and spas completely spoiled us with their embracing warmth and cleanliness. We ventured to Joshua Tree and Palm Springs in ease from this park. Very large sites and easy to navigate through the park. My only advise would be on your approach when entering swing wide to hit the curb straight on as it does have a lip. Verizon 4G was super solid and we paid $22.50 per night for 10 days. Gated entrance and always visible staff makes you feel secure and they were helpful with directions and tips too. We will absolutely stay here again.
