Mustang Island is a tranquil campground with the beach at your door and the Sun rises big and beautiful. Driving disn the beach is a bonus. Sites are wide enough for our 4 slides and plenty to walk around. The cinder block patios are covered. Very nice.

On March 1 Mustang Island State Park will re-open to DAY USE ONLY. (from https://www.mysanantonio.com/) "No overnight camping will be allowed, and the park will close at sunset, they said." They will continue to work to return services.

Due to hurricane damage this state park is partially closed and may be impacted for some time. The RV area is scheduled to re-open in Jan 2018 but call for availability. According to: https://www.101corpuschristi.com/news/mustang-island-state-park-closed-indefinitely "Corpus Christi’s beloved Mustang Island State Park is closed indefinitely. The park was heavily impacted by Hurricane Harvey, and park officials are still assessing the damages. While the beach itself held up well, Rick Meyers, region director for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, said he cannot predict when the state park will reopen. “What we’re dealing with currently is a badly damaged headquarters,” he said. “The day-use booth is totally gone; restroom and showers totally gone; resident housing is destroyed.”
