We just got home from a stay at Muskallonge State Park. We were overtaken with black flies. We were able to enjoy Lake Superior the day after arrival, but from that time on, we were unable to stay at the campground due to black flies. We got up with the rest of our group and left ASAP to go somewhere away from the campground. We woke up the next morning and decided to go home a day early, we couldn’t sit outside. I stopped at the office and asked do they spray and they said no, that they were one of very few state parks that do not spray. I would never go back!! Unfortunately when we got home after dark and turned on the lights in our Motorhome, there were MILLIONS of black flies in our Motorhome. We spent 3 hours vacuuming, trying to get rid of them, we will be cleaning for days. From now on, I will ask if the campground sprays. To not spray, is not safe. All eleven of us have bites everywhere, even after using sprays!!! Very disappointed!
