📖 About This Campground
Mill Creek Campground in Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park south of Crescent City California provides primitive tent and RV camping 2 miles down a paved road off US 101. The down is notable for folks who are bike touring the coast. This is a long and steep road!
Each of the campground's 145 campsites has a picnic table, food locker and fire ring. The campground is open from May through September. Situated in a second growth Redwood forest the name should say it... used to be a lumber area for the early days when chopping down thousand year old trees was fun. Numerous stumps stand around the campground as ghosts of a bygone era.
Running water and showers available at 4 restrooms situated throughout the campground. Fresh water is available near the dump station.
Suitable for RVs up to 31' and trailers up to 27' these lengths are important because the camp roads meander through large trees that will be unforgiving if you try to "squeeze" around. Mill Creek Campground suffers from budget neglect and shows signs of wear. Best suited to tent and small RV camping.
Multiple trails meander through the woods around the campground. A creek (Mill Creek) passes through the campground.
Paved roads with either paved or gravel parking pads. No supplies or groceries come prepared for your needs.
