📖 About This Campground

Loyston Point Campground is a serene lakeside retreat situated on Norris Reservoir in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Managed by Vista Recreation under a concessionaire agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), it offers a tranquil setting for outdoor enthusiasts. The campground is named for Loyston Point at Point 19 on the reservoir.


Campground Overview

  • Total Campsites: 64

    • 59 sites with 30-amp electric hookups

    • 8 pull-through sites

    • Some sites are shaded; others are more open

  • Amenities:

    • Restrooms with heated showers and flush toilets

    • Dump station

    • Picnic tables and fire rings at each site

    • Swimming beach on Norris Reservoir

    • Boat ramp

    • Playground

    • Hiking trails

    • Community water stations

  • Cabins: 3 furnished cabins available for rent, accommodating up to 5 people each.

    • Cabin #3 is pet-friendly; Cabins #1 and #2 are not.

    • Cabins include a kitchenette, TV, air conditioning, and heating.

    • Bedding and towels are not provided; guests must supply their own.

    • Cabins do not have bathrooms; campground restroom facilities are nearby.

    • Trailers are not allowed on the cabin access road due to limited space and no turnaround.

  • Day Use Area: Open to registered campers and non-campers for a fee of $10 per vehicle per day.

  • Activities:

    • Kayak, paddleboard, canoe, and paddleboat rentals available.

    • Picnic tables, grills, and a swing set for children are set up in shady areas near the sandy beach.

    • Restroom building on-site.

  • Nearby Attractions:

    • Hemlock Bluff National Recreation Trail, offering scenic views along the steep ridges and bluffs of Norris Reservoir.
