📖 About This Campground

Lodgepole Campground is settled near beautiful Flaming Gorge Reservoir just 26 miles north of Vernal, UTAH, at an elevation of 8,000 feet. Visitors enjoy exploring local trails and day-tripping to the reservoir, only 10 miles away. Lodgepole Campground is located 4 miles N of Jefferson off CR 35 and CR 37.  It has 34 campsites with parking spurs 20-40 feet and a maximum trailer length of 30 feet; elevation is 9,900 feet; camping season begins in May and continues to early October with reduced service.  The camping fee is $17.00 per night with a $7.00 use fee.  Facilities include toilets, tables, water, trash, and fire rings. A scenic aspen forest dotted with pines covers the campground, offering pleasant shade and pretty fall color. Summer wildflowers are abundant in this shady, secluded campground. Don't Move Firewood: Help prevent the spread of tree-killing pests in our national forests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. Firewood is available for purchase from the campground host. This campground has a dump station available for a small fee and trash collection is provided. Showers are located at Deer Run and Mustang Ridge for campers with proof of camping registration. Nearby Attractions: Many campers make the short trip to beautiful Flaming Gorge Recreation Area for its world-class fishing for lake, brown and rainbow trout. Boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and scuba diving are popular activities on the reservoir. Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam, and the adjacent visitor center contains area history exhibits. The Green River below the dam provides spectacular rafting opportunities. A trip down the river offers unique geology, outlaw history and Native American rock art. Cedar Springs Marina is less than 10 miles from the campground. NOTE: This is Lodgepole Campground on the Ashley National Forest near Flaming Gorge, Utah and Rock Springs, Wyoming; this is not Lodgepole Campground located in the Uinta National Forest in near Provo, Orem and Heber, Utah.
