Lakewood Camping Resort in Myrtle Beach South Carolina is a mega-resort located adjacent to the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. The large park has plenty of options for RV sites and depending upon crowds sites can be accessed as pull through or back in. RV and tent campsites are placed on packed dirt with either grass or a sandy dirt base. Campsites have a picnic table and no fire ring. Crowded between sites notably when busy the park is also surrounded by lease sites with mostly park models and manufactured homes on them; these are the "long term sites" with guests that either live year round, maintain the site as a seasonal destination or as a vacation home. There are multiple access points to the sandy beach shore. The camping park has a large water park, indoor pool , outdoor pool, Cafe areas, club houses and scheduled activities. Lakewood camping resort is a suitable option for large and small RVs the campsites are relatively easy to access but Advance reservations are highly recommended notably during Peak tourist seasons. During the winter months the park is home to a number of snowbirds who spend the winters enjoying the access to the beach and surrounding areas.
