Lake Louisa State Park Campground

This park is close to our home (70 miles) and one of our go-tos, when there's availability, usually in the summer. Great park, long, woodsy drive into the campground, past trail heads, equestrian trail rides and lots of wildlife. The campground is between two lakes, Dixie Lake and Hammond Lake. Every site is nice, some pull throughs, some back-ins, some full hook-ups, mostly only water and electric. Quite private with lots of wildlife. They have huge 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabins for rent and have recently put up 3 "glampers" for rent, something like a yurt with AC, beds, etc. There's boat and kayak rentals, a camper canteen with snacks, fishing supplies, souvenirs, firewood, etc. bicycle rentals, fishing pole, paddleboard, canoe rentals. They also offer through another company horseback trail rides, segway tours, kayak and hiking tours. Primitive campsites, boardwalk, fishing pier. Lots of wildlife. And about a half hour from Disney, Sea World, Kissimmee and Orlando.

One of my favorite Florida State Parks. I am a state park person, not an RV resort person. Enough vegetation to give privacy. Well maintained by pleasant camp hosts. Rangers are always welcoming. Lots of pull through sites so rigs of all sizes can easily be accommodated. Love the hilly terrain as so much of Florida is flat. Clermont has a lot to offer. The location is not too far from Disney. Am self contained so do not use the restrooms or showers.
