Another great Riverside County Park ruined by the locking of the only access gate. Why would anyone willing stay in a location where they are locked in is beyond me. Anyways the campground itself is very nice with pretty views of the lake and mountains. You are not allowed to touch the water but they do have a pool open seasonally. Located way out away from town in the southern end of La Quinta. A nice get away spot. Verizon signal was good from here for both phone and data.

Lake Cahuilla Recreation Area Campground in La Quinta California is a 710-acre park situated at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains and offers water and electric sites for RV and tent camping. Easy access for any size RV the partial hookup RV campground is on a loop adjacent to the lake. Next to the loop is a primitive area on sand/ dirt and then across the lake is the equestrian/ group campground. The park features nice grassy play areas a modern playground and the popular infinity pool. The equestrian. group area is located on dirt roads while the main RV area is all paved.
