Going into this park we didn't know really what we were getting into. Apparently it is under relatively new ownership who are doing a great job of cleaning up and improving the overall Park. The lake is absolutely beautiful and renting their canoes to paddle around is a must. The site we were assigned at first seemed narrow but once into the site was one of the biggest sites we have ever had! Many of the other campers have seasonal sites and all of the folks we ran into were very nice. In the future we may take a partial hookup site or even a primitive site out in the back area. That area, the primitive area, is stunning for a camp spot. It is a mix of Prairie and trees with plenty of room in between sites and amazing lighting in the morning and afternoon off the trees. They have an archery range and Laser Tag both of which were a lot of fun. The camp store is well stocked. I have nothing but positive things to say about this destination. It is very quiet at night and it appears that the other campers are very low key. If you're looking for a place to stay in this area this is a good option Verizon coverage is the only downside. Cell coverage is spotty and weak. Wi-Fi is available in the store

📖 About This Campground
Kayuta Lake Campground in Forestport New York offers full hookup RV and tent camping in a wooded setting for short and seasonal stays. The large property is a family friendly destination with regular events planned during the summer weekends. Primarily seasonal guests in the main hookup camping areas the park also has a primitive area that has a more State Park style camping feel with tent sites, pavilion and a couple of electric/ water hookup sites.
Guests have access to a boat launch and fresh water along the namesake lake. On property there is a nice pool, playroom, clubhouse, ball courts, store and open grassy areas. An overall happy and jovial vibe highlights the camping experience at this location.
Situated a few miles off NY 12 at the base of the Adirondacks this park is popular for regional travelers while also offering some of the largest full hookup overnight sites in the country (ask for site 302). Roads into the park are navigable but slower speed and windy due to the rural nature. Surrounded by pretty countryside this is a unique, family friendly camping destination.
the main park roads are paved while the camping loop roads and parking pads are packed dirt/ grass.
