📖 About This Campground
Kalama Horse Camp is a scenic equestrian campground situated in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, just outside the west boundary of the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. This rustic site offers a serene setting among towering conifers, providing direct access to over 50 miles of trails suitable for horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking. The campground is open seasonally from mid-May through mid-November.

Total Sites: 27, with 16 reservable equestrian sites and 10 first-come, first-served standard sites.

Pull-through and back-in options with varying driveway lengths (up to 70 feet).

Wooden or metal horse corrals, some accommodating up to four horses.

Picnic tables and fire rings provided at each site.

Compost toilets are available; however, potable water is not provided—campers should bring their own drinking water.

Stock water is available for horses.

Firewood is available for purchase at the host site for $10 per bundle.
