📖 About This Campground
Jumbo Campground is located on the northern slope of Colorado's Grand Mesa, in the Mesa Lakes area, which is home to over 300 lakes. Visitors enjoy the area for its great fishing, canoeing and hiking opportunities.
The campground offers single- and double-family campsites, most of which have electric hookups. A few single sites are accessible. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring with grill. Vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided.
This campground is at 9800-foot elevation. The campground is located between Jumbo and Sunset Lakes among mature spruce and aspen trees. The hilly terrain provides privacy for closely spaced sites and a challenge to drivers. Most sites have views of the lakes and are within easy walking distance.
There are 21 sites with electric and 5 without. Maximum spur length is 60 ft.
The nearby Mesa Lakes Ranger Station was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1941 and provides information to campers. There are lodges close by that provide for a cook's night out. The mosquitoes are plentiful; bring repellent. 26 campsites.
