Houchin Ferry Campground

Houchin Ferry Campground is a tranquil, riverside camping area located within Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky. Situated approximately 20 minutes from the park's Visitor Center, this campground offers a serene environment ideal for those seeking a peaceful retreat.

🏕️ Campground Features

• Campsites: The campground comprises 12 primitive tent-only sites, each equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and a lantern post. All sites offer scenic views of the Green River.

• Amenities: Facilities include vault toilets, potable water, and a picnic area with a covered shelter, charcoal grills, and benches.

• Accessibility: While the campground is open year-round, it is more remote compared to other park campgrounds, making it suitable for visitors seeking solitude.

• Firewood Policy: To prevent the spread of pests like the Emerald Ash Borer, transporting firewood into the park is prohibited. Visitors may collect dead or downed wood within the park or purchase firewood from the Caver's Campstore near the Visitor Center.

• Fishing & Boating: The Green River provides opportunities for fishing and paddling. However, there is no designated boat launch at the campground.
