High View Park is situated on a peninsula along the western shore of Bardwell Lake, near Ennis, Texas, approximately an hour south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the park offers a variety of recreational activities amid a mix of grassy and forested landscapes.
Recreational Activities:
- Camping: The park provides campsites equipped with water and electric hookups, suitable for both tents and RVs. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov.
- Boating and Fishing: A four-lane boat ramp and courtesy dock facilitate easy access to Bardwell Lake, known for its favorable fish habitats, making it a popular spot for bass, crappie, and catfish fishing.
- Picnicking: The park features picnic sites and a reservable day-use group pavilion that can accommodate up to 50 people, ideal for gatherings and events.
