High View Park

High View Park is situated on a peninsula along the western shore of Bardwell Lake, near Ennis, Texas, approximately an hour south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the park offers a variety of recreational activities amid a mix of grassy and forested landscapes. Recreational Activities:

• Camping: The park provides campsites equipped with water and electric hookups, suitable for both tents and RVs. Reservations can be made through Recreation.gov.
• Boating and Fishing: A four-lane boat ramp and courtesy dock facilitate easy access to Bardwell Lake, known for its favorable fish habitats, making it a popular spot for bass, crappie, and catfish fishing.
• Picnicking: The park features picnic sites and a reservable day-use group pavilion that can accommodate up to 50 people, ideal for gatherings and events.

Wildlife and Nature: The area is home to diverse wildlife, including deer, armadillos, rabbits, squirrels, and various bird species, offering ample opportunities for nature observation and photography.   Operating Hours and Fees:

• Day Use: A fee is required for day-use access. The park is open year-round; however, operating hours may vary by season.
