📖 About This Campground

Grizzly Creek Campground near Keystone South Dakota provides 20 primitive tent camping sites close to Mount Rushmore. Operated by concessionaire for the National Forest Service the scenic campground is accessed off US 16A (better known as Iron Mountain Road - famous for its cork screws and tunnels). Campers enter over a bridge and then follow a one-way dirt loop road. The sites have a mix of sun and shade, from large pines. Built by the CCC there are some classic styled restrooms and picnic areas. Sites have dirt (and concrete for the ADA site) with picnic tables, fire rings and water spigots. Set in a quiet setting the campground tends to be lightly used. Also suitable for small RVs. A camphost is available. Grizzly Creek Campground is isolated and there are no hiking trails from the campground. motorcyclists and cyclists will enjoy the immediate access to one of the most fun roads in the world to ride.
