Dash Point is located on the western edge of Federal Way, WA. This is a very large state park bisected by WA Hwy 509. The park is more inland from the beach, and the day use parking area is located on the beach side of the park. At least one walking trail, that is maybe .75 mile, will lead you from the loop with RV hookups down a scenic creekside walking path down to the beach. The path is rugged in places, so wear close toed shoes and don't try to carry too much weight or gear. Hookup campsites are generally very nice. We were in site 44, which had full tree cover, had a huge and mostly private lawn and camp area. Our fire ring was huge and didn't contain any debris from the previous camper. Campsite 44 is a pull-thru spot with an arc driveway. However the driveway is far from level. You'll find yourself about 5 degrees out of level and leaning to the left. It will take some time to get yourself leveled out, so be prepared to have your leveling pads out and ready to use. Driveway is quite narrow, you'll find yourself physically close to your electric, water, and sewer. The entire state park is beautiful. Plenty of walking trails, some to the beach, some farther inland into the surrounding forest. I believe there are a limited number of bike trails, but bikes and hikers are kept separate, or rather bikes aren't supposed to be on hiking trails. Restrooms/bathhouses are fairly modern and decorated in "state government chic" decor. They appear clean and regularly maintained. Showers require tokens for operation and those are available form a bill exchanger located on the back side of the guardhouse at the park entry. There is at least one restroom/bathhouse for each camping loop. Geograpically, the lower camping loop is mostly campsites with hookups and caters to RVs. The more northern loops are all campsites without hookups and no paved pads, just tent camping. This state park also has cabins available for rent. The cabins are electrified and appear to have heat pumps for heating and air conditioning, but I do not believe the cabins have water or bathrooms. There is a dump station near the park entry and has a $5 fee for dumping, honor box and envelope pay system. Cellular service is limited. You'll be able to make voice calls and SMS text messages, but doing anything serious on the Internet is going to be very painful. Between having a RV camp site with full hookups, to the beautiful area, this is a state park I'd be happy to come back to every year.
