Beautiful lake with trails and biking. Also fishing boating. No swimming. Sites are clean. Cheyenne and Laramie are not too far. 30 min? We come up from Denver . Dad lives in Cheyenne. Great place to spend a weekend. We need a kayak!

Great review thanks!

Truly exceptional state park. There are also 80 walk-in sites available for those who don’t like to plan ahead. Well-spaced, some private, some not, but for sure something for every one. Reasonable prices too. Be aware that there's no swimming allowed in the lakes, nor is there a dump station. It is permanently closed but Laramie and Cheyenne, each 24 miles away have dump stations. There are a couple of dozen new sites being added this year (2019).

Nothing like a the first week of June in Wyoming. We enjoyed an absotuley beautiful weekend at Granite Reservoir in Curt Gowdy. Amazing mountain bike trails, fun kayaking, and warmth were all there to greet us. Have zero complaints. The water is filled to the top allowing for great shore fishing. Cell reception is weak or non-existent.
