Colt Creek State Park Campground

Colt Creek State Park Campground north of Lakeland Florida is a brand new RV Park and campground being developed for use. Slated to open in early 2018 the campground will start with 30 full hookup RV sites with paved roads. 2 tent only campsites will be available. 12 miles of unpaved trails for hiking, cycling and horse riding. The park also has two small lakes and one larger one that are popular with anglers. The larger lake has a 75-foot fishing dock. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife, including a large population of deer. Florida black bear have been spotted a couple of times. Other more commonly seen animals include bobcats, coyotes, swallow-tail kites, various owls and about 150 other bird species, many kinds of butterflies and plenty of snakes.
