This is truly one of Georgia's shining stars of a park. The facilities are nice, but it's the natural features of this park that really make it stand out. This was our first outing with our 33 foot travel trailer and our 3/4 ton truck that involved winding mountain roads. It was a bit nerve wracking getting up to the park and back down on GA-136 but even with our inexperience it wasn't too bad. We camped in the West Rim (site 39) based on reviews about there being more space and privacy between sites over there. There wasn't a ton of privacy with the leaves off the trees but there was ample space between sites with several bathhouses (I never went in one but my husband said they were nice) and even some laundry facilities. There were also gray water drains every few sites which I really appreciated with no full hookups in this park. My biggest struggle in camping without sewer is keeping my kitchen gray tank from filling up but I'm getting much better and carrying the dish water to the gray water drain after I do the dishes does help to make the tank last through a 4 night weekend. The hiking here is fantastic and the park is very dog friendly. While dogs are allowed on all the trails they recommend not taking them on the waterfall trail and I'd agree with that. We had to navigate a few metal grate stairs going from the West Rim Trail to the Overlook trail and our dogs managed but were clearly not comfortable with them. So we left them in the camper when we did the waterfall trail (600+ metal grate stairs, sometimes over precipitous drops). Our site was great, but we also really liked 23, which probably had the most privacy around the firepit area as it was a level down from the pad. We camped at Cloudland Canyon State Park in a Travel Trailer.
