Christian Family Campground at Dads for Boys in Yumatilla Florida provides partial and primitive hookup RV and tent camping on the grounds of the not-for-profits facility dedicated to providing fatherless boys with a supportive environment. The smoke-free environment is traditionally used by boy scout troops and similar organized groups the facilities have been opened to the public for camping opportunities. A great place for church picnics, family gatherings, scouts with a gun range, fishing dock, pavilion, and boat rentals. Located just south of Ocala National Forest the 240 acres of wilderness preserve with a mile of lakefront on the North shore of Lake Yale provide a unique camping experience. Miles of hiking trails through the forest, fishing on the lake, and other outdoor activities allow guests to enjoy the rural location. Wild turkeys, hogs and occasional bears can be spotted in the wilderness area. Sites are dispersed around the grounds with water and electric service available. (About 4 water/ electric hookup sites are available for RVs) A pump out service is available. Full bathroom facilities are available near the office plus the camp provides porta potty style restrooms around the grounds. Access is via a quarter mile packed/ graded dirt road. Any size RV can access the property. A family friendly environment the location offers campers a more peaceful, less wild party, atmosphere than the Ocala National Forest campgrounds. Call ahead for availability. Personal water craft can be launched from shore by the camp staff using a tractor; in addition there is a public boat launch not far from the camp. Short and seasonal camping options are available. The large properties allows for private camping even when groups are using the facilities too.
