I really liked it even though I typically seek out more remote campgrounds. This place is definitely big and set up for families. When we arrived mid-day Friday we were somewhat isolated in our campsite. By late Friday, the place was full. We'll be back.

📖 About This Campground

What can I say, but that this is definitely a place everyone should stay! If you do - you will want to return. Casini Ranch is a family owned campground so it still retains its feel as an old-fashioned family friendly campground. It is very large, and there are lots of wooded campsites. The history on this ranch is one of the reasons it is so charming. There is a historic barn (turned Rec Center) on the property, and the original Mill Pond from the 1800's. The signage throughout the ranch is very 'old-timey' feeling - which I really liked. It appears that the most popular feature here is the over 1 mile of riverfront access to the Russian River. People come just to enjoy the water, and all of the water toys. I hear the fishing is great too, and that during certain times of year, the seals make their way to this area of the river (doing a little fishing of their own). Although we don't have young children anymore, families are definitely the target audience of this campground. The ranch goes out of its way to offer lots of kid friendly activities, and caters to families by making sure quiet hours are enforced. The "General Store" is very well stocked - in fact - we have discovered some really great adult beverages we didn't know about before by exploring 'Alan's Picks.' Located within a 10 minute drive to the beach, a seal colony, and amazing Pacific Coast views, it enjoys a great climate - so much so that we extended our time there (we are lucky enough to be full-timers - so we get to choose where we spend most of our time). The ranch is located in a very charming old Victorian town with great shopping. One of my favorite things is the ability to access the local wineries in Sonoma County wine country. Korbel is just a few minutes down the road (YUM!). For the animal lovers out there - the ranch is unique because it is a working ranch. There are cows, horses (and miniatures), donkeys, geese, ducks, and an amazing variety of birds. Bring some carrots and apples, and the horses will love you. Here is my advice: Just GO!
