📖 About This Campground

Camp Comfort Campground in Ojai California offers full hookup RV and tent camping approximately 1 mile from downtown. The San Antonio Creek flows through this beautiful, lush park. There are an ample number of mature shade trees throughout. The campground is ideal for group camping and the spacious, newly renovated clubhouse is perfect for parties, reunions, company picnics, weddings, etc. The small park is popular with locals for its large grassy picnic areas and newer playground. Visitors also enjoy playing in the cool creek waters. The RV campsites are situated on a small loop at the back end of the park (accessed through the main parking lot). Camp Comfort is a well maintained and scenic park. Campsites can accommodate most sized RVs. A camp host is on site year round. Paved roads and parking pads each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. Spacing is erratic between sites with some having decent space and others being really close. None of the sites are level. Reservations can be made online by clicking here.

Nice little campground located not far from Ojai. It is tucked off North Creek Road along a "side street" that cuts from CA 33 over to the otherside of Ojai; as a result it does get a steady flow of traffic. This is really only an issue for the sites along the road which is one of the ones we had. Our large RV was able to fit into site 4 and pretty much would have only fit in site 4 or 5. Site 5 is a horrible site if someone is in site 4 as it is within 3 feet of the other site!. As for site 4 we choose it because we could back right in to it from the main parking lot avoiding trying to make the loop. Our rig was too big for this campground and barely (we went over the curb) got in the entrance to the park. I advise anyone with a RV or trailer longer than 36' to try somewhere else. The sites are not level at all; not crazy out of level, just not level. Lots of large older trees so plan accordingly if a storm is coming in. The onsite camphost, Stewart, was very helpful and nice. He has the front site and is around most of the day. During the week the campground was empty but by Friday evening was 2/3 full. It had rained recently so the river was flowing well making for lots of fun swimming in the little holes along the river and playing in the water. The playground is very nice and overall the campground is an excellent choice. We rode the bikes from camp up Hermosa Rd to the Ojai River Bike Trail. From there we descended down to Ventura, enjoyed the beach and rode back to the RV. This ride is not for the faint of heart as it is 20 miles roundtrip with a good grade coming back. The rate was $35 per night for full hookups. They do not have a dump station. A small laundry and restrooms with showers are available. On weekends the park is popular with locals. Verizon 4G and phone were excellent, no TV service via HD antenna; Stewart had a Dish setup and was able to get a signal in his RV. We won't try squeezing our RV in to here again but if we had a smaller unit then this would be on our short list for the area.
