First, bring your ipad and/or DVD movies for their Direct tv doesn't work. After checking in and seeing the Direct tv didn't work, I went over to the lady working in the store and she did come over and try to get it going, but apparently she only got two channels, so she just told us to watch those two channels. Second, better brings you some extra towels and wash clots, as you only get 2 towels and 2 wash cloths. Most people take a shower in the morning and a shower in the evening, better not here unless you bring your own. Third, got up Sunday morning at least expecting to have a cup of coffee, oops wait, better bring your own coffee as well, there was no coffee in the room either. Fourth, well getting up early Sunday morning wanting to leave, no clean towels, no coffee, trying to cook out in the dark, because no one showed us where the outside lights were (by the way if you go the out side light switches are outside)and by paying $100.00 for the room, and another $50.00 deposit, in order to get our deposit back we had to call the owner (by the way a nice man) and he had to call the store manager down there so she could get our money. Whats the meaning of this last statement. The store which is located right beside the cabins doesn't open until 11:00 am. So sorry for all you early morning fishers, better stop some where before getting to the lake, not to mention the man working at the store, possibly the assistant store manager is very hateful, and oh yeah please check that you bring a lot of money, because it cost you $3.00 (each Person) to enter the swimming area. I WANT GO BACK!

We called this campground late in the day to see if they had a spot free that night, as we were on a long pull south and wanted a stopover. They fitted us in and said they'd be in the office til late (we got in at 10pm) as they had a band playing on site. This review is based on us needing a quick overnight stop, with a late arrival, for a good price - we used Passport America and it was $14.50 on a Saturday night. When we arrived, we got checked in quickly and set up on our spot fairly easily. It was a gravel back-in, easy enough for our 26 foot travel trailer, full hook ups. Not totally level but only a bit out. For me, this would not be a destination campground - it looks a bit rough around the edges, some of the rigs look long term and have a lot of 'stuff' piled outside, and there's not really any privacy between sites. Having said that, it is on a lake and there are some waterfront spots that I think would be nice if you wanted to stay in the summer, and particularly if you like boating. There is a shop on site, and the bar. The restrooms were clean, with good showers. There is a laundry, which we didn't use, but looked functional, and the lady we spoke to was polite and obviously was happy for us to turn up late. It's on a fairly busy road, and coupled with the noise from the band (which we were warned about so I am not complaining about this), and some howling dogs it wasn't the most peaceful site, but we still slept. For what we wanted and the price, it was great value, hence our rating.
