📖 About This Campground
Allis State Park, established in 1928 as Vermont's second developed state park, is located on the summit of Bear Hill in Brookfield, Vermont. The park offers a tranquil setting with panoramic views of central Vermont's mountains and valleys.
Amenities and Features:
- Camping: The park provides 18 tent/RV sites and 8 lean-to shelters, accommodating various camping preferences. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Modern restrooms with flush toilets and coin-operated hot showers are available for campers.
- Hiking: The Bear Hill Nature Trail is a 0.75-mile family-friendly loop that leads to a historic fire tower. Climbing the tower rewards visitors with panoramic views of the Green Mountains of Vermont and the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
- Picnicking: A day-use field with picnic tables is available for visitors. Additionally, a log picnic pavilion, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), can be rented for group gatherings.
